Interpreting bar plots

SportStat Media has built an athlete fame explorer for editorial research. The dataset is the ESPN Top 100 famous athletes, which has two categorical variables: country and sport.

Bar plots are a great way to see counts of each category in a categorical variable. The explorer lets you view athlete counts by country, by sport, or by country and sport combined.
