1. Sharing and alerts
You've created a compelling Power BI report, but the real power lies in sharing your insights! This video explores how to effectively share your findings with colleagues and stakeholders.
2. Why is sharing insights important?
Imagine navigating a crucial business decision in the dark. Stakeholders lack the necessary data and insights, leaving them feeling uncertain and hesitant. Sharing Power BI reports acts like turning on a powerful flashlight. It illuminates the key information they need and help them take action out of it.
Sharing your Power BI reports offers numerous benefits. You can align stakeholders around a data-driven perspective, drive action based on clear insights, and even foster ongoing collaboration by establishing a shared information base.
3. Setting up data alerts
But sharing isn't the only story! Power BI's data alerts functionality allows you to stay proactive. Define thresholds for critical metrics and receive notifications or emails when those thresholds are reached.
This allows you to take timely action, address potential problems early on, or capitalize on unexpected opportunities and stay informed about your data.
4. Access Permissions
Power BI lets you set permissions on each workspaces. An admin of a workspace can configure Admin, Member, Contributor or Viewer permission for each user, ensuring they see and interact with data just the way you want. While a member can add other members too. A contributor will have less permissions then a member and can feature dashboards and reports on colleagues' home page while a viewer can interact with the report.
Typically end users are provided with contributor or viewer level permissions.
