Welcome back! In this capstone exercise, we're bringing everything together: research, prompting, content creation, and data analysis, to re-imagine paid media campaigns with AI. Let's see how AI can transform paid social campaigns from audience targeting to creative testing.

2. The Challenge: Scaling MarketingGPT

Let's set up our case study. You're a paid media manager at MarketingGPT, a chatbot built specifically for marketing use cases. Your job is to drive user signups using paid social ads on LinkedIn, while keeping cost of acquisition under 10$. Now, paid media is all about experimentation. What drives our cost of acquisition down comes from three key areas: audience definition, creative elements like images and copy, and using data to iterate on winning ads. We already have campaigns running, but we want to dedicate some budget to an AI-led approach focused only on marketers working in the tech industry.

3. Step 1: AI-Powered audience research

First, we'll use AI to ideate and research new audiences, and narrow down our targeting. Be mindful of setting clear goals, context, and limitations. For example, ask for job titles you want to target, relevant countries, industries, and more.

4. Step 2: Generating creative variations

Next, we use AI to generate fifty different copy variations for our ads. This is content creation at scale. In traditional paid media, we might manually write five to ten variations, but with AI, we can generate fifty unique variations in minutes. Here, we'll use the job titles we identify in step 1, and different competitive angles from user interviews, to really hone in on different types of messaging.

5. Step 3: Analyzing performance with AI

Next up, is iteration. After running our campaigns for a week or two, we collect the performance data and use AI for analysis. We'll identify the top performing ads, and which taglines have the most powerful messaging, so we can drive further iteration.

6. The complete AI-powered workflow

By the end of the capstone, you would have completely re-imagined a paid marketing workflow with AI—from ideation, to execution, and iteration.
