Accelerating marketing ideation with AI

1. Accelerating marketing ideation with AI

So far, we've seen how to research and plan marketing initiatives effectively with AI. In this video, we'll focus on how AI can be an ideation partner as we execute on these initiatives.

2. AI for ideation

A common misconception is that AI can only help in execution for marketing workflows. However, AI can also help marketers think outside of the box and see beyond tried and tested playbooks, offering fresh perspectives and unconventional approaches that could help campaigns cut through the noise.

3. AI for ideation

For example, you can prompt AI tools to challenge assumptions, synthesize trends, critique your plans, propose new channels to explore, and more.

4. AI for ideation

Moreover, AI can be useful for ideation within the flow of everyday tasks. It can help generate tactical ideas as you work. If you're a growth marketer, you can find relevant subreddits or online communities for outreach. If you're a content marketer, you can quickly research compelling statistics to strengthen your articles. If you're managing social media, you can generate diverse content angles to keep your feed fresh. If you're building partnerships, you can identify prospect partners to target. This embedded ideation helps marketers move faster while being exhaustive.

5. Deep research: One of the killer apps of AI

This ideation is powered by deep research—one of the true superpowers of generative AI systems. By combining the intelligence of large language models with live internet access, these systems can quickly summarize and synthesize insights for a given research task.

6. Deep research is a common functionality in all AI tools

In this course, we’ll use the Copilot Researcher agent to illustrate Deep Research workflows.

7. Deep research is a common functionality in all AI tools

Just know, that all of your favorite GenAI tools have this functionality.

8. Deep research in Copilot

To access the Researcher Agent in Copilot, simply go to the agents tab, and press on the researcher agent. The Researcher Agent will be able to develop a synthesized brief based on the requirements of your prompt. Let's put it to the test.

9. Ideating competition pages with AI

Imagine you're a growth marketer at SleepWell, a consumer tech company selling a smart sleep tracking mattress.

10. Ideating competition pages with AI

Our plan is to create competition pages such as “SleepWell vs [Competitor]”, hoping to drive more conversions with these pages from prospects in North America. To get an exhaustive list, we perform deep research using Copilot.

11. Defining the goal

We navigate to the researcher agent, and we start prompting. The same communication principles of goal, context, and limitations, apply here. We start with our goal, to create an exhaustive list of top mattress providers ranked by market share and size.

12. Add context

We then add your context, that the mattress providers need to be segmented by both smart mattresses, and normal mattresses, and that we would like to compare all of their features in a table for easy consumption.

13. Add limitations

Next up, we add our limitations, which is to only focus on the North America market.

14. Deep research in progress

Copilot then starts the deep research process. This can take up to 10 to 15 minutes.

15. Detailed reports in minutes

And voila, we get a detailed report.

16. Let's practice!

Now, let's put your AI research skills to the test.
