The performance analyzer

In this chapter, you've modeled the industry data in two different ways; a star schema and a snowflake schema. Let's compare the performance between the two approaches.

Power BI's performance analyzer provides a mechanism for measuring performance in Power BI. It looks at the speed of data retrieval, DAX operations, and displays of information on the screen. Although the visuals and datasets we will work with are fairly simple and will load quickly, we can still use this value to understand the tool's potential.

If you have lost any progress, close any open reports and load 4_3_performance_analyzer.pbix from the Exercises folder on the desktop.
