Copilot in Word across devices

1. Copilot in Word across devices

We've been working with Copilot on our computers. But here's the reality: work doesn't always happen at our desks.

2. Work happens everywhere

Sometimes we're commuting, traveling, or just away from our workstations when we need to review a document or make quick edits. Let's see how Copilot works on mobile devices.

3. Work happens everywhere

First, on iPad. We're at a coffee shop between meetings, and we need to draft a summary of the project status update for our team. We just finished a stakeholder call, and the meeting recording with transcript is saved in OneDrive.

4. Referencing files

We open Word on our iPad, and we immediately see the Draft with Copilot prompt box.

5. Referencing files

We describe that we want to generate a summary, and click on the +

6. Referencing files

or type / to select our meeting transcript.

7. Referencing files

This grounds Copilot with what was actually discussed.

8. Instant draft generation

We can review it, edit or regenerate if needed,

9. Instant draft generation

or keep it. Within minutes, we've created an accurate draft based on what was actually said, without our laptop.

10. Summaries on the go

Now, let’s move to a different scenario. We're on the train heading to a meeting, and someone just shared a proposal we need to review.

11. Summaries on the go

We open it on our phone, and Copilot automatically generates a summary.

12. Ask anything with voice

One tap, and we can view the summary. We can also ask follow-up questions by typing or using voice – such as "What are the payment terms?" or "When does implementation start?". Perfect for getting meeting-ready while mobile.

13. Edit text anywhere

But we can do more. Let’s say we're reviewing a document we drafted yesterday, and one paragraph feels too technical for our audience.

14. Edit text anywhere

We select the text and

tap Rewrite with Copilot.

16. Finding the perfect tone

Copilot gives us several versions. We can navigate between them, and tap Adjust to change the tone - making it simpler, more formal, or more concise.

17. Finding the perfect tone

We find the version that works and tap Replace.

18. Copilot works wherever we work

Copilot works wherever we work. Whether we're drafting on an iPad between meetings or catching up on documents from your phone during your commute, the same AI assistant is there to help you stay productive.
