Create with Copilot

1. Create with Copilot

Welcome back!

2. Copilot as a real writing partner

Remember when we drafted a project proposal for Project Phoenix. With Copilot, we created the proposal from scratch and made it more concise. One prompt, one refinement, done. Now it's time to work with Copilot like a real writing partner - going back and forth, shaping the output together, and refining until it's exactly right.

3. Copilot as a real writing partner

Today, we need a meeting agenda for our quarterly review. Let's start with drafting from scratch. But this time, we're going to work with this draft before accepting it.

4. Copilot as a real writing partner

We're going to "Draft a 60-minute quarterly team review agenda, covering project updates, budget review, and Q4 planning." Not bad. But it's not exactly what we need. Instead of keeping it, we're going to refine it right here, before it's even added to our document. "Include a section for team feedback." Better. And see this button here? It helps to compare versions before deciding. Now we keep it. We've got our agenda, but this budget section needs more details. We click Copilot without selecting anything. And click on "Keep writing this." It reads what we've written and continues the thought. This gives us momentum. We can keep it, refine it, or use it as inspiration. Now, rewriting. We've used one of the shortcuts before, but sometimes you need something more advanced. This paragraph on team feedback is correct, but we want it to land a bit differently. Instead of using one of the shortcuts, we'll tell Copilot exactly what shift I need. "Rewrite this to emphasize the value this creates." There it is. Same information, different angle. This is when we go beyond shortcuts - when the focus or emphasis needs to shift in a specific way. We just wrote an additional section on Project Phoenix ourselves. It is fine, but it could be better. We select the text, click Copilot and choose "Writing suggestions." Copilot analyzes our writing and suggests improvements. We can swipe through different suggestions, and apply them. It's like having an editor, but we're still in control. One more thing. We can also use Copilot to make your documents more visually engaging. We can ask Copilot Chat to create an image - like a header for this agenda. Copilot generates the image right in the Chat pane. And if we like it, we can simply insert it into the document.

5. Your Create toolkit

So here's our toolkit: Refine drafts before keeping them. Compare versions. Let Copilot continue when you're stuck. Rewrite with custom prompts. Get writing suggestions when something feels off. And add images to make your documents more engaging.

6. Let's practice!

We're not just using Copilot - we're partnering with it. Time to put this partnership into practice!
