Course introduction

1. Course introduction

Imagine your entire global infrastructure of Kubernetes clusters operating as one, seamlessly managed, consistently configured, and uniformly secured, regardless of location. That's the reality unlocked by GKE Fleets and a multi-cluster architecture on Google Cloud. But as your footprint expands across regions and environments, how do you manage the complexity of configuration drift, enforce security policies at scale, and simplify cross-cluster communication? That's the core challenge we tackle in this advanced course, Manage Scalable Workloads in Google Kubernetes Engine. Moving beyond a single cluster requires a new level of operational maturity. We are here to introduce the tools to centrally manage, govern, and operate a distributed GKE infrastructure. Through a combination of videos, quizzes, and hands-on labs, you'll get comfortable with scaling GKE architecture and practice configuring fleets of clusters. You'll begin with an Introduction to GKE at Scale, then move on to learn about Multi-cluster Architecture, followed by Fleets and Teams. You'll then explore Managing GKE Configuration at Scale and Fleet Networking. You will then move on to Cloud Service Mesh, Cloud Service Mesh Routing, Securing Network Traffic with Cloud Service Mesh, and Multi-cluster Networking with Cloud Service Mesh. You will then move on to learn about how to Manage Identity in GKE with Authentication, Security Posture, Compliance, and Preventative Controls, and CI/CD at Scale. Finally, before wrapping up, you'll explore GKE and AI. This course was designed for developers, DevOps engineers, and cloud architects with intermediate to advanced knowledge of GKE. Oh, and if you haven't already done so, you'll need to complete the Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine course before starting this one. OK, let's begin.
