1. Multi-cluster Services

GKE offers MultiCluster Services, MCS, for easily running a service across multiple clusters. Multicluster services are made discoverable and accessible across clusters via a virtual IP. MCS uses Cloud DNS to enable cross-cluster service discovery. It automatically manages DNS zones and records for exported services, allowing clusters to connect seamlessly. Multicluster service configuration is separate from Istio and Cloud service mesh. Multicluster service is only available for GKE clusters, and those clusters must be using VPC native networking.
