Converting character to factor

Both LOF and isolation forest can be trained using data containing categorical features, but it's easier if these are converted to factors first.

In this exercise, you'll revisit the thyroid data which contains some additional categorical features that will need to be converted.

In this chapter, you'll explore an alternative tree-based approach called an isolation forest, which is a fast and robust method of detecting anomalies that measures how easily points can be separated by randomly splitting the data into smaller and smaller regions.
