Measures and quick measures

Sometimes your dataset will include all of the measures you need for analysis. Quite often, however, you will need or want to create your own measures in order to make data analysis easier for business users. In this exercise, you're asked to investigate how the number of employees per firm and by age of establishment changed over time. You're going to create your own measures, both manually through DAX, as well as using quick measures, to answer the last two questions of this chapter.

If you have lost any progress, close any open reports and load 2_3_measures.pbix from the Exercises folder on the desktop.
