Present your Google Slides
1. Present your Google Slides
To present a Google Slides presentation, select "Present." The presentation will change from windowed to full screen on your device without any browser interface. A toolbar will appear in the lower left corner of the screen with controls for the presentation. Left and right arrows will advance to the previous or next slide respectively. A play button will start automatically advancing the slideshow. How often the slides advance is controlled by selecting a time frame from the menu that is opened by selecting "Options." Choose from every second to every minute, along with whether or not to loop the slideshow. Clicking the slide number opens a list of slides by title, allowing a quick jump to any slide in the presentation. Selecting "Notes" opens the Presenter View window. The Presenter View window is your control panel for presenting. It displays an elapsed time since "Present" was pressed, thumbnail views of the current slide, along with the previous and next slides, a dropdown menu of all the slides in the presentation, the speaker notes for each slide, and audience tools. Enabling audience tools allows audience members to visit a link in their device web browser to be able to submit a question to the presenter. Choose if the questions can be asked by only your organization members or anyone with the link. Selecting "Notes" also opens the Presenter View window. Selecting "Pointer" enables a virtual laser pointer to enable the presenter to highlight content on the screen. Select "Captions" to enable closed captioning. If your device has a microphone, Google Chrome will prompt to allow access to it. As you speak, Google Slides will convert your speech to text on the screen in real time. "Tips" opens a window with a list of keyboard shortcuts for presenting. Select "Full screen" to return to a full screen mode for presenting or if the presentation is already full screen, to return to a windowed view of the slides. "Options" also has a link to open speaker notes, and to print or download the presentation as a PDF or Microsoft PowerPoint. Select "Exit" to return to edit mode for the presentation.2.
