Creating a cohesive report

1. Creating a cohesive report

Good job. You've loaded in data, created relationships, written calculated fields, and built multiple visualizations. In this final chapter, we will look to understand more about employee attrition at Atlas Labs. Finally, we'll end this case study by improving the overall visual design of our report and building a dashboard.

2. Key insights uncovered

Whilst adding demographics data into our report, we've uncovered some new insights about our diversity and inclusion metrics. The first insight is that the majority of employees hired at Atlas Labs are between the ages of 20 and 29 years old. A surprising data point from the report development is that for active employees, there are 2.7% more women than men. Employees who identify as non-binary make up 8.5% of total employees. Employees who identify as white have the highest average salary. Employees who identify as mixed or multiple ethnic groups have one of the lowest average salaries. These insights are very useful and can help Atlas Labs review its hiring strategies to make improvements across the board.

3. Insights to uncover next

An interesting question that comes from the insights we've uncovered is: "Does our demographics insights impact employee attrition?". We'll be diving deeper into that question in this chapter.

4. Development process

Throughout the case study so far, we've focused on the first two steps and got some general insights on the organization and demographics. In this chapter we'll focus on diving deeper into factors that impact attrition. Finally, we'll finish with our final dashboard that includes setting an overall dashboard design, adding visuals and utilizing space correctly.

5. The final product

In the end, we will be working towards having a report that provides insight to our stakeholders and has a clean, branded design. Here is an example of the overview page you are working towards.

6. Let's practice!

Time to get back to the case study. Enjoy visualizing!
