So far, we’ve been using AI like a general assistant: it can summarize, draft, or brainstorm. But most modern AI tools provide you the ability to create custom assistants. Actually, the Researcher introduced in the previous chapter, is one example of a custom assistant. In Copilot, custom assistants are called Agents, in ChatGPT, they’re called CustomGPTs, in Gemini, Gems, and Claude calls them Projects. No matter their names, they all act like specialists and are focused on specific tasks. When you use a standard assistant, you start from scratch every time, explaining your needs and context. But custom assistants come pre-configured with instructions, knowledge, and capabilities tailored to your specific needs. By designing an agent with structured prompts and roles, we’re turning Copilot into a teammate trained for one mission. In this case: coaching your sales calls. The strength of an AI agent lies in its reusability. Every time you've completed a sales call, you just need to feed it into your AI agent, and the feedback will come out without lifting a finger.3. As with prompts, AI agents work through natural language. You don’t need to code: just describe what your agent should do. Once you're happy with the first iteration, you can try it out and refine. Make sure to include both the purpose and the tone of the output.4. Your sales coach assistant
Your Copilot agent's workflow will mirror a sales manager's process: it reads the transcript, surfaces insights, and offers clear coaching feedback. It doesn't just summarize; it highlights strengths, improvement areas, and next steps you can act on immediately.5. Visualizing the setup
Once you've described and named your agent, Copilot will generate the structure for you. From there, you'll customize its prompts, test it on real transcripts, and refine it until the outputs feel sharp and reliable. This is where your coaching loop begins.6. Let's practice
