Gone, but not forgotten

The crane application container example is looking for a file named /customerdata.json when it runs. If you don't pass in a file, the program still works and prints out "DEFAULT NAME". This means it's reading from a file within the container image itself. What do you think happens to this file when you pass in a file from the host using docker run -v?
