Wishing for personal information

Wishlists used to be written on paper. Written wishlists are still popular in many countries around Christmas time when children write a list of items that they want and send the lists to Santa Claus; the ideal scenario is that Santa reads the list and approves of the expenses.

However, in the 21st century, wishlists have taken on a different meaning. Wishlists are now most commonly related to ecommerce and function as an itemized list of items that a particular user wants or wishes for. Users go to online shopping websites and create their own list of items they are interested in.

With that said, could modern day wishlists have privacy implications?
