Almost nothing runs as you

A deploy failed last night and the scheduled report never ran. You have four calls to account for, and the reflex in the channel is already "check whether you have permission".

Open the Principal inspector and select each call in turn. Read both zones every time: who set the work in motion, and which identity AWS actually evaluated. The line worth slowing down on is the one saying where that evaluated identity came from.

A teammate reads the same four calls and writes the rule down as: when a deploy fails, never check your own permissions.

Which of these is the accurate correction?
