Congratulations!

1. Congratulations!

Congratulations on completing the Software Development with Cursor course!

2. From prompts to full workflows

Together we’ve covered a lot — from first steps to advanced workflows — and now we can confidently use Cursor as a true coding partner. In Chapter 1, we learned what makes Cursor different from traditional editors: the developer-AI loop, the Editor and Agent views, and how to get set up. We explored core features like model switching, Tab autocomplete, Inline Edit, Agent Chat, and the three agent modes:Ask, Plan, and Agent. We also learned how to shape AI behavior with Rules, AGENTS.md, and Memory so the assistant writes code the way our team expects. We then moved from individual prompts to full workflows: using @ references to ground responses in files, docs, and folders; orchestrating multi-file changes with the Agent; building with Test-Driven Development so Cursor focuses on small, testable goals; and debugging visually using logs, terminal output, and screenshots. These lessons showed how to turn ideas into reliable, test-verified code within Cursor. Finally, in Chapter 3, we learned Git workflows inside Cursor — staging, AI-generated commit messages, and conflict resolution — plus how to protect secrets with .cursorignore and Privacy Mode. We explored the Agent Window and Composer. We also learnt about running multiple specialized agents in parallel, chaining tasks with Composer, and speeding up multi-step coding. Finally, we learned to scale Cursor for complex projects with Max Mode and MCP servers, so Cursor can read larger codebases and external docs securely.

3. Keep building with Cursor

Cursor is constantly evolving, with updates that may tweak its interface or add new capabilities. The good news is that the core features and workflows we’ve mastered — from AI-assisted coding to agent-driven automation — stay consistent. Keep an eye on Cursor’s Changelog and Docs to stay informed about the latest improvements. And if you’d like to explore more, check out more of DataCamp's courses and resources!

4. Thank you!

Thanks for learning with us — keep experimenting, iterating, and building. Cursor makes powerful workflows possible; now it’s your turn to ship them.
