Exploring Snowflake CoCo in Snowsight

1. Exploring Snowflake CoCo in Snowsight

Before we start exploring the Snowflake CoCo interface, there is something important to note. Let's check our user's roles. Snowflake CoCo always runs using your Default role. This is true even if you are currently using a different role. In this example, even though you are currently using TRAINING_ROLE, CoCo will only have access to the resources that are available to ADV_ROLE. If you want CoCo to use a different role, change your default role. Now let's open the Snowflake CoCo panel. We can do this by clicking the CoCo icon in the bottom right. This is the Snowflake CoCo Side panel. In addition to the main chat panel, it has a few other buttons above and below. Let's take a look at a few of these. Here at the top is the "New Chat" button. When you chat with Snowflake CoCo, it remembers your conversation and may refer to things that you said before. But if you are switching to a new task, you might not want it to do this. Creating a new chat will make sure that CoCo only remembers things within that chat and not things you said or did before. Next, we have "Chat History." If you have created many separate chat sessions, and want to return to a previous one, all your chats can be found here. Switching between chats is great for multi-tasking. It is like having multiple different agents and having a separate conversation with each. Sometimes, this CoCo panel gets in the way. You can hide it with this button. Here at the bottom is the "Plan Mode" toggle. If you don't want CoCo to make changes to your environment but just want to plan, use Plan Mode. CoCo will be read-only. Instead of making changes, it will tell you what it plans to do. Finally, we have the AI Model Selector. Different LLMs have different capabilities. You can control which LLM CoCo uses to get the results you want. "Auto" will automatically select the best model available to your account.
