Welcome to Fashionbric!

1. Welcome to Fashionbric!

Welcome to Plan and Implement a Data Analytics Environment with Microsoft Fabric. This course was developed by Davide, a Business Intelligence Developer with extensive experience in corporate Fabric environments. I'm Shahzad, a Content Developer at Datacamp, and I'll be your guide throughout the course.

2. Your adventure at Fashionbric begins!

In this course, we'll step into a roleplay scenario. You'll take on the role of a Fabric administrator at a fictional fashion company called Fashionbric (Fashion plus Fabric). You’ve been hired as the go-to expert for Fabric, managing the environment that hosts the Fashion company’s reports, data warehouses, and pipelines. You start your first day with confidence and enthusiasm, ready to tackle any challenges that come your way.

3. Panic at the Fabric!

But as you settle in, you realize that you’ve stepped into a high-risk Fabric environment! There are a few issues: Everyone has access to all workspaces, reports with names like V1 and V2_final are scattered everywhere, and the data sources have unclear dependencies. Most concerning, external sales consultants has access to the CEO's "Internal Reporting" workspace, which contains highly sensitive data! Your top priority is to fix this security threat, and then restructure the environment to prevent future issues.

4. You will manage your own Fabric Sandbox

Throughout this course, you'll have access to a sandbox Fabric account where we will learn how to tackle some of these issues.

5. Let's practice!

Let's jump into an exercise to get familiar with the Fabric interface.
