Course Conclusion
1. Course Conclusion
You’ve reached the end of the course. You did it! I hope you feel very accomplished. At the beginning of the course, I said that we had two main goals: First, we wanted you to emerge from this course with a foundational mental map of what’s possible with Snowflake. Specifically, we wanted you to come away knowing four things: One, Snowflake’s core objects and how to use them Two, Snowflake’s architecture Three, Fundamental Snowflake features (like time travel, user-defined functions, etc.) and how to use them And four, much of what Snowflake now lets you do with data engineering, applications, AI, and ML. Second, we wanted you to come away equipped to take a bunch of other Snowflake coursework, if that was of interest to you. We designed this to be the single point of entry for a longer Snowflake learning journey for those who want to go deeper on, say, Data Engineering with Snowflake, GenAI with Snowflake, Applications with Snowflake, and more. So my question to you is: How did it go? Do you feel like you know the core objects? Like you know how to use lots of Snowflake features? Like you have a sense as to what Snowflake lets you do on the AI front, the applications front, and so on? And are you excited to learn more? If you came into this hoping to advance your career by getting a job at a company that lists Snowflake experience on the job description, I hope you feel like you’re one step closer to getting that job. If you work at a company that already uses Snowflake, and you came into this course wanting to learn about features you weren’t using, I hope you feel like you’ll be more effective at your job as a result of this course. So that’s it! You should be excited, both because you’ve come a long way, but also because you now know enough about the building blocks of Snowflake to start building some really cool end-to-end projects! I grew up playing the violin, and near the end of high school, I was in an orchestra where we’d practiced non-stop for a day or two, and I thought we were starting to sound really good. The conductor seemed pleased with our progress, but he surprised me when he said: Now that we’ve finally got the notes and rhythms down, we can start making music! So that’s how I feel now – You know a lot of Snowflake notes. You know a lot of Snowflake rhythms. Now go make some music! Go forth and build.2. Let's practice!
