Aggregate measures

Measures are what make DAX and Power Pivot very powerful analytical tools. Measures are calculations that evaluate expressions in the data model.

Aggregation functions, like COUNT(), SUM() and AVERAGE() summarize multiple individual data points into a single value. These are very similar to the functions in Excel.
