Using variables
As you develop measures that become more and more complex, it may be necessary to assign variables within your measure to simplify and ease troubleshooting.
Year-Over-Year (YoY) calculations are frequently used in financial comparison analysis to compare two or more measurable events on an annualized basis. You'll dive deeper into this in chapter 4.
A (YoY) calculation has already been calculated in the workbook, but it looks rather complex. It's your job to simplify the formula by defining a variable in the function.
