Benefits of containers
A container is a lightweight, isolated, and executable software package that contains everything needed to run an application, including dependencies and settings. So far, you have identified the benefits of using virtual machines over physical machines. Now you will see some statements about the benefits of developing and running applications in containers instead of on regular physical machines. Before you begin the exercise, take a moment to reflect: What are the real benefits of using containers?
