With your successful completion of the final exercise, we have reached the end of this journey into cleaning data in PostgreSQL databases. Before we part ways, let's take a look back at where this journey has taken you.

2. Course content

We started where every new topic begins, with the basics. Chapter 1 introduced several useful string manipulation functions. This chapter also covered ways to use regular expressions and string similarity techniques for identifying string data in need of some tidying up. Chapter 2 brought us into the meat of data cleaning as we considered how to handle missing, duplicate, and invalid data which represent some of the most common types of messy data. Data does not always arrive in an easy to analyze format. Chapter 3 focused on different ways to convert between data representations. Chapter 4 focused on data transformations including joining data values through concatenation, splitting values with and without delimiters, and pivoting data to make it more easily interpretable.
