You packaged your team's post-refactor checks into a skill at .claude/skills/verify-changes/. Its frontmatter is two lines: the name is verify-changes, and the description reads, in full, Verification skill.

The steps in the body are solid, and whenever you ask for the skill by name it runs perfectly. What it never does is fire on its own. Every time Claude finishes a refactor you end up asking for the check by name, which is the exact habit the skill was meant to replace.
