Wrap-up

1. Wrap-up

Fantastic job on completing the case study!

2. Data analysis flow

You completed four out of the five data analysis steps, and the only step left is to communicate your insights with Databel. You did a tremendous job and demonstrated you can complete an analysis from A-Z in Tableau.

3. Tableau Public

Databel sadly isn't a real company, but in case you do want to share or save your work you can publish your work to Tableau Public. Tableau Public is the free version of Tableau, and although it has its limitations it allows you to publish your results to a public Server. That way you can then download it again from Tableau public to have your work saved locally!

4. A Tableau Public account is required

You need to have an actual Tableau public account to do this. If you don't have an account you won't be able to publish your work. Creating an account is easy and can be done one public.tableau.com. Simply click the sign up button, fill in the details, that's it!

5. Saving your work

In the Datacamp portal you can navigate to File - Save to Tableau Public to save your file. You then fill in your Tableau public details and press publish.

6. Internet access is blocked

The file will actually publish, but you will get an error message because internet access is blocked within the virtual machine.

7. Your file will be published

Don't worry about this, if you log in to Tableau Public on your own internet browser you will see it's there!

8. Optional future work: predicting churn

If you are interested in developing your skills even further, and want to learn how to predict churn you can do so by taking the marketing analytics: predicting customer churn in Python course. Intermediate python knowledge is required for this course, and you'll learn various techniques to build your prediction model. Finally you'll get introduced to methods to assess the quality of your prediction such as a confusion matrix. If you apply the learnings from that course to this dataset, you will discover that the main churn drivers are the same as you discovered in this analysis, such as the Month-to-Month contract type!

9. Tableau is a playground

Tableau is a playground, and you actually applied many different skills throughout this case study. You analyzed a new dataset from scratch by creating a variety of visualizations such as dual axis graphs and scatter plots. You created different calculated fields to make your analysis easier and more powerful, and manipulated the data with bins where applicable. Secondly you also leveraged the power of interactivity by using filters and even visualizations as filters. You even used parameters to make your graphs dynamic. That's not a small feat and you clearly demonstrated you have an excellent understanding of the Tableau fundamentals. Great job!

10. Congratulations!

There is one final optional exercise that you can follow. It guides you through the different steps on how to publish to Tableau Public, and enables you to compare your work with the Datacamp solution. Congratulations again!
