What You've Built
1. What You've Built
You've built a complete sales intelligence agent. Let's review what you've accomplished. You built a semantic view that lets your agent query structured sales metrics with natural language. You define five dimensions for slicing data by customer, product, sales rep, stage, and date. You created three measures, including a complex win-rate calculation. You added synonyms so users can ask questions using their own terminology. You created a search service that finds insights in unstructured conversation transcripts. You configured hybrid search combining semantic understanding with keyword matching. You tested it with real queries to validate accuracy. You configured an agent that autonomously decides which tools to use. You wrote orchestration instructions that guide the agent's behavior. You connected both semantic view and search services tools. You tested it with queries that need structured data, unstructured data, and both combined. You optimize instructions for better response quality. Your sales intelligence agent can now answer questions like, what's a win-rate by product line? Or what concerns did customers raise? Using natural language, no SQL required, no manual searching through transcripts, the agent autonomously combines structured metrics with unstructured conversations, maintains context across multiple questions, and cite sources for verification. You built this all under an hour using visual interfaces. No heavy coding, no infrastructure management. This is a working demonstration of what's possible with Snowflake Cortex Agents. In the next module, we'll explore advanced capabilities. You'll learn best practices for orchestration instructions, and how to evaluate agent reliability using Snowflake built-in monitoring. We'll also cover model context protocol, MCP, which lets your agent integrate with external applications. We'll use cursor to connect to Snowflake's managed MCP server. These advanced topics build on what you've learned here. You now understand the fundamentals of semantic views, search services, and agent orchestration. The next module takes you deeper into evaluation, optimization, and integrations. Congratulations, you've built your first Cortex Agents.2. Let's practice!
