They start with these 3 Cs to be empowered. These are YOUR key takeaways and how YOU can help digital transformation succeed at YOUR organization and in your career.
3. Curiosity?
C number 1. Curiosity is one of the greatest things you can do to enhance your skills in digital transformation and data. One of the best questions you can ask is “why?”. Now, I have five kids and they ask a lot of questions but I hope they know to never stop. As adults, we stop asking. I want you to become question askers and masters. Ask questions often, especially in digital transformation.
For example, you can ask “what benefit does this digital transformation bring to me? The team? The company?” Or, you can ask “why are we undertaking this digital transformation?” or “how does this transformation help me and the company to stay on top of trends occurring in the industry or world?”
By asking questions, you can unlock knowledge to empower you to be successful.
4. Creativity
C number two. Creativity. Do you consider yourself creative? I sure hope you do! In reality, the vast majority of us are creative, but maybe we have forgotten it in our careers. Digital transformation at times can seem mundane or boring or that you don’t want to undertake it. But, within people is a creative power that can bring things to life or add new viewpoints to things.
Everyone has a seat at the digital transformation table, you all do, even if you don’t think so. It may be as simple as driving an idea to the digital tool or transformation taking place, all the way to the one implementing it. But, remember your ideas and creativity matter.
5. Critical thinking
C number 3. Critical thinking. We live in a time when critical thinking may not be in strong supply. We need people to critically think. When digital transformation is happening to you, utilize your curiosity to ask questions and then critically think on things. Don’t just take things at face value. Ask questions and dig in. Critically think on it and see how the digital transformation can be a solution in your organization. Use your creativity combined with critical thinking to discover how digital transformation can solve problems. Again, don’t just take things at face value, really dig in and think on it.
Overall, the individual plays a key role in digital transformation. Ask yourself: what is my role and how can I apply the 3 Cs of digital transformation for the individual? Remember, you don’t have to do all these heavy things but attack digital transformation with the 3 Cs. You can do it.
