Exercise

# Dropping terms from the model

You have just applied a Negative Binomial GLM called `neg_binom_glm`

that contains several terms that are used predict the number of feeding events:

`stream_flow`

`time`

- the interaction between
`stream_flow`

and`time`

- an offset to account for variable sampling effort (
`offset(logarea)`

)

Now, you'll determine if any terms can be dropped from the model using `drop1()`

and apply the appropriate new model.

Note that the `dragonflies`

data set, `neg_binom_glm`

model, and `MASS`

package have been preloaded.

Instructions

**100 XP**

- Use
`drop1()`

to determine which, if any, terms can be dropped from the model. - Use this information to apply a new Negative Binomial GLM with the appropriate terms dropped.
