# Model comparison

In the previous chapter you did a **model comparison** to conclude that the moderation effect is significant. Let's do this again but now with the centered data.

Assume that you centered the data before any analysis. You did not yet conclude that the moderation effect is significant. To get a conclusion, you have to do model comparison by simply **comparing** `model_1_centered`

**versus** `model_2_centered`

with a null hypothesis significance test.

. The R function compares the two models in terms of the overall amount of variance that they explain in the outcome variable`iq`
