Comparing two proportions for paired samples

So far, our examples in this lab contained independent data. However, in real life we often have to work with dependent data. When working with dependent samples, each observation in one sample has a matched observation in the other sample. An example of using proportions for paired data is if we would ask people whether they approve of the European Union, and whether their partner approves of the European Union. The contingency table is displayed below:

Our research question here is whether there is a difference between the proportion of surveyed individuals that approve of the European union and the proportion of their partners that approve of the European union. What would be a good pair of hypotheses?
