Soft launch is when a course is live on the site but hasn't been advertised yet. Plenty of students still find and take the course and provide helpful feedback. Students usually find edge cases in the SCTs, plus typos and incomplete instructions that have been pushed live. Soft launch usually lasts 4 to 6 weeks and requires active maintenance on your part to help squash typos and bugs.
Hard launch means that the course will be advertised by DataCamp's Marketing Team on social media. The course will also now belong to Content Quality, and your DataCamp point of contact while in this phase is a Content Quality Analyst or CQA.
